If you have been around for a while (okay a year and a half) you know we are OBSESSED with the Dock a Tot Grand! Last April I wrote this post, Take Co-Sleeping to a Whole New Level. I should probably titled it, How to transition your co-sleeping toddler to their own bed. (LOL) We have also loved the Dock a Tot Grand for Transitioning Liam to his Big Boy Bed.
A Little Back Story
For the last year and a half Liam has been in his own room. He does sleep in his travel crib with his Dock a Tot. (Scandal right?!) However, between his travel crib being mesh and him being one and a half to three years old, I was never worried about his safety.
Let me give you a brief description of the layout of our home. Our house has three bedrooms. Two of the rooms are “kids” rooms and then the master bedroom. They are all next to each other in a row, kids room, kids room and then master. So for the past 2 years, Liam has been in the kids room that shares a wall with our master. It was great, I could always hear him wake up and never needed to leave a baby monitor on. Well, he is three loud AF so I have no problem hearing him. I also want to get Blake’s room ready (she is still in our room, take a look at her Mini Nursery!) So keep an eye out for when we are transitioning Blake to her room, you better believe she will be using a Dock a Tot Grand too!

Had Totally Planned To Do This Sooner
I honestly had planned to begin transitioning him in June of this year but we had a crazy summer and it got put off until basically his third birthday. Once he started being able to climb out of his travel crib the week before his 3rd birthday (I was shocked it wasn’t sooner) we knew it was time!
Liam has had a lot of change over the last month, speech therapy, potty training, preschool and now a new room… which means he is no longer napping. So we have definitely been trying to show him as much grace as possible without letting him totally get away with things if a tantrum strikes. Like I said earlier, I had planned to start transitioning him to his room a couple months ago!

Dock a Tot Grand to the Rescue
Luckily, his Dock a Tot is the PERFECT thing to help Liam transition. This thing is basically his dog bed, we can bring it to a hotel, Grandma’s house, the floor in our room and he will go to sleep on it! (We also love the transport bag.)
Liam is getting use to his big boy bed, but still has the same comfort and familiarity of his travel crib because his Dock a Tot Grand sides give your LO a snug sense of security in their new bed and still allows them to exit and enter their bed. Liam’s big boy bed is actually a king sized bed, so it is literally HUGE! Because our house only has three bedrooms, we still wanted to be able to have the option for a guest to stay the night. Plus having a king size bed in his room makes it much for comfortable for me for the few nights at the beginning that I did end up falling asleep too.
We definitely found both in Liam’s travel crib and now his big boy bed that he had a highly reduced number of night time wake ups. They were so few and far between, that when they did happen, we knew he actually was in need of something.

Is Dock a Tot Non Toxic?
A few other things we love about Dock a Tot is that their loungers are all machine washable, non toxic and OEKO-TEK certified, non-heat harboring, not treated with any harmful substances such a flam retardants, pesticides or formaldehyde and of course is travel friendly.
We have been very happy with all of our Dock a Tots, you can read about our experience with Blake and her Dock a Tot Deluxe here and in case you missed our first experience with the Dock a Tot Grand that post is here.

I would love to connect with you over on Instagram, please send me a DM and let me know what you think! You can also always email me at hello@therealrebekah.com. I would like to take a moment and thank Dock a Tot for gifting us our Dock a Tot Grand! However, this post is based off of my own thoughts and experience!
